Tinubu's Choice: Ambode Wins APC Gubernatorial Ticket

According to reports, Ambode has emerge as APC gubernatorial candidate, in the primary election conducted on Thursday, 4th of December.


The 51-year-old Ambode defeated other notable aspirants in the party, the election had about 3000 delegates in attendance.

The public finance management expert, outshines 11 aspirannts, like Femi Hamzat, who is the Commissioner for Works, Ganiyu Solomon, the Senate Minority Whip, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Speaker of the House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Health, Leke Pitan.
Prominent aspirants who lost out includes,  former Attorney-General of the state, Olasupo Shasore, who had the backing of Governor Fasholathe Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adeyemi IkuforijiAdetokunbo Wahab, Tayo Ayinde and former Commissioner for Special Duties, Tola Kasali.
Notably, Ambode, who was said to be the choice of the Party Chairman, Bola Tinubu, emerge as the gubernatorial candidate of the party outshining Olasupo Shashore, who was preferred by current governor, Babatunde Fashola.
