President Goodluck Jonathan, left the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,
on Sunday to attend the 69th session of the United Nations General
Assembly, in New York.
According to the Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, Jonathan
would address the United Nations Security Council High-Level Session on Threats
to International Peace and Security Caused by Terrorist Acts.
Abati said the president would
present Nigeria's statement to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, September
24, 2014.
He said, the president would
attend receptions hosted by American President Barack Obama and the
Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki Moon while in New York.
Abati said the president Jonathan
will also to hold bilateral talks with Ban Ki Moon and the British Prime
Minister, Mr. David Cameron, according to schedules.
He also said the president would stop
over in London for a brief private visit before proceeding to New York.
The president is expected to be back on Thursday, according to Abati.
